There are Student Supplements for this book. Check out the 'Supplements' tab below.
Precalculus: Building Concepts and Connections, 2nd Edition, combines mathematical rigor with an engaging writing style to maximize student success. Innovative features, such as Just In Time Exercises, Notes, and Observations, provide connections between various concepts. Detailed examples give clear explanations and often use Just In Time references to reinforce algebraic skills. Technology and applications are incorporated throughout, and engaging exercise sets with a variety of problems round out the text.
This new self-study feature allows students to get as much practice as they want on the examples in the book. Each Practice Example correlates with the examples from each section of the eBook. The system automatically generates new problems, so students can do each one of them until they feel confident that they understand it. Everything is recorded in a section-by-section Progress Report to help students keep track of their progress.
WolframAlpha is integrated throughout the book. Click the red icon next to selected example, and it will preload that specific example in WolframAlpha so that you can adjust the parameters, explore the results, and see a step-by-step solution. No separate license necessary!
There's a video tutorial for every single example in the book—and each one is worked out by multiple math tutors. Students benefit from seeing their peers work a problem. The nuances of the slightly different approaches to solving a problem really helps students, and gives them confidence that they can do it too!
Unique technology embedded in each exercise set allows students with a smart phone or other internet-connected mobile device to view our video tutorials without being tied to a computer.
Problems at the end of each chapter provide students with a comprehensive review of each chapter's concepts.
