Trigonometry 2nd Edition
Author: Charles P. McKeague
ABOUT THE BOOK
Trigonometry 2nd Edition is a standard right triangle approach to trigonometry. The emphasis is on understanding the definitions and principles. Identities are introduced early in the book in Chapter 1. They are reviewed often and are then covered in more detail in Chapter 5. Also, exact values of the trigonometric functions are emphasized throughout the book.
What, Why, Where (New to this Edition)
Each chapter begins with a "What, Why, Where" feature that enhances a student’s understanding of why the concepts are essential and how to use them by creating engagement. The “What” part tells you the idea, so you get the basics. The “Why” part explains why it matters in the real world, making it easier to see its relevance. Lastly, the “Where” part shows you where you can use these ideas, clearly showing how to apply them. This feature imparts knowledge and empowers students to connect theoretical understanding with practical implementation, fostering a more comprehensive and applicable grasp of quantitative concepts.
Scenarios (New to this Edition)
Scenarios are featured in each of our chapters and showcase real-world applications of the topics we will cover. Each scenario takes the trigonometry concepts from the chapter and applies them to unique and engaging situations. By incorporating these scenarios, you can better understand how trigonometry is used in various fields, such as engineering, navigation, architecture, robotics, and medical imaging. Our goal is to make the material more relevant and stimulating, helping you see the practical value of what you are learning and motivating your interest in these mathematical principles.
Spotlight on Success
The “Spotlight on Success” feature offers students a variety of strategies from many different sources, and highlights both the challenges and triumphs common to students taking mathematics courses. Students and instructors share their journey and suggestions for success in a math course. These stories highlight the featured individuals’ unique and relatable approaches to learning. Many of the spotlights feature the same peer tutors that students will see on the MathTV videos that accompany the text.
Instructor Resources
Instructor's Resource Manual- Contains two tests for each chapter of the book, and answers to all the problems in the text.
Complete Solutions Manual- Available online, this manual contains complete solutions to all the exercises in the problem sets.
Printed Test Bank- Instructors can choose from a bank of pre-created tests; two test for each chapter of the book. These are provided in an editable format so that they can be tailored to your teaching style and testing preferences.
PowerPoint Presentations- Presentations that can be opened in PowerPoint, Apple Keynote or Google Slides have been provided as a template for classroom lectures. Instructors can add examples that they want to use in class or use these to supplement their presentation of the material.
